Vinky Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Welcome to Vinky. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website, the Vinky Parent App and Vinky LevelUp. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Important terms to notice: Section 2 explains who may create a child profile. Sections 5–7 explain paid access, automatic payments and cancellation. Section 12 explains the limits of our responsibility. Your rights under South African law always take precedence over a term that cannot lawfully limit them.

1. Who we are

Vinky is a South African educational revision service operated by Vyncora (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/367938/07. “Vinky”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Vyncora (Pty) Ltd when providing this service. Our registered director and business contact information appear in section 18.

These terms cover vinky.co.za, the Vinky Parent App, Vinky LevelUp and services made available through them. They apply when you visit our website, create or use a Vinky account, accept an invitation to an authorised family role or purchase access.

2. Who may use Vinky and add a child

An adult aged 18 or older may create a Parent App account. A parent, legal guardian or another adult who has the necessary legal authority may add and manage a child. Before creating a child profile, that adult confirms their authority and consents to Vinky processing the child’s information for the purposes explained in our Privacy Policy. We record the confirmation and the applicable notice/version information.

Children use Vinky LevelUp through a device connected or made available by an authorised adult. Children do not create their own Parent App accounts. Vinky is intended for South African families. Available grades and subjects are those shown in the app; the ability to create a profile for a particular grade does not guarantee that every subject or feature is offered for that grade.

Where Vinky offers family sharing, invited adults may receive the access associated with their role. An invitation is not permission to share a child’s information with someone who lacks the appropriate authority. You must keep invitation links and codes safe.

3. Your account and security

Provide accurate information and keep your contact details up to date. Keep your password, access codes and connected devices secure. Contact vinkyrecap@gmail.com promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not let unrelated people use your sign-in or attempt to access another family’s information.

We may take proportionate steps to protect accounts and restrict access where there is serious misuse or a security risk. We will respect any notice and refund rights that apply under law.

4. What Vinky provides

Vinky supports school revision through CAPS-aligned questions and learning activities for the grades and subjects currently offered. The Parent App helps an adult plan revision and view learning results. Vinky LevelUp lets a child complete assigned revision, receive marking and explanations, and participate in reward or adventure features where available.

Vinky is an educational support tool, not a replacement for a teacher, school or professional educational assessment. We do not guarantee a particular exam result or mark and are not endorsed by the South African Department of Basic Education. We aim to provide the service with reasonable care and skill; availability may sometimes be affected by maintenance or technical problems.

5. Access options

The Your plan screen sets out the access options available to your family and the price before purchase:

A purchase is only completed when the payment has been validly confirmed. We do not grant paid access merely because a payment page has been opened or a browser returns from a payment service.

6. Prices, monthly payments and price changes

Prices are displayed in South African rand (ZAR) before you pay, including the price for the first child and any additional children on your plan. Vyncora (Pty) Ltd is not registered for VAT at the date of this version, so we do not separately charge VAT or issue VAT tax invoices. The full amount payable will be displayed at checkout; our VAT statement will be updated if our registration status changes.

A one-month period follows a calendar-month anniversary. If a month has no matching date, the last date of that month is used without permanently changing the original anniversary (for example, 31 January → 28 February → 31 March in a non-leap year). Any already-paid or valid Voucher period is accounted for when the next payment date is calculated.

When you choose Pay automatically each month, Vinky displays the next amount and payment date under Your plan and charges your saved payment authorisation through our payment provider, PayFast. PayFast processes payment-card details. Vinky uses provider-issued references or tokens to request authorised payments and does not store full card numbers or card security codes.

Adding a child to or removing a child from the plan may change the amount for a future unpaid period. Removing a child from the plan is not the same as removing their profile from Vinky. No automatic part-month price adjustment or refund is made merely because plan membership changes, subject to applicable rights.

Increases to our subscription prices: We give families paying automatically at least 30 days’ advance notice before taking a higher recurring subscription amount. We explain the new amount, when it takes effect, and how to stop automatic renewal. We will not collect an increased subscription price unless the required notice period has been met. This notice applies to a change in Vinky’s subscription price; separately authorised changes to the number of children on your plan are dealt with under the plan-change rules shown to you. We do not send a special Vinky reminder before every unchanged ordinary monthly payment, unless required by law or our payment provider’s applicable rules.

7. Cancelling payments, refunds and statutory rights

You can stop future automatic monthly payments in the Parent App under Your plan → Stop automatic renewal. We stop initiating future recurring charges once cancellation is recorded. Any valid payment already submitted before that point may still need to be reconciled; we will not knowingly start a duplicate charge. Your existing paid access normally continues until the date already paid for. Stopping renewal does not delete your account or your child’s profile or revision history.

We do not ordinarily refund unused days of a purchased month merely because you stop renewing, change your mind or do not use Vinky. The same ordinary non-use policy applies to a purchased 72-hour trial. These policies do not remove any statutory right to cancel, obtain a refund or obtain another remedy.

South Africa’s Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) may give a consumer a seven-day cooling-off right for an electronic purchase of services. A statutory exception may apply where a service begins within that period with the consumer’s consent. For eligible purchases that begin immediately, the checkout separately asks whether you consent to the service starting immediately. This is not a general waiver of any right that law preserves. We assess any cooling-off or refund request under the law and the actual circumstances.

We investigate incorrect or duplicate charges, failure to provide purchased access and material service problems. Where a refund is legally due, we process it through an appropriate method within the required legal timeframe. See the full Refund & Cancellation Policy or contact vinkyrecap@gmail.com. Do not email a full payment-card number, CVV or password.

8. If access ends

When paid or complimentary access expires, some revision-creation or other paid features become unavailable. The Parent App may still let you sign in to view your family’s account and available historical results, as shown in the app. The expiry of access does not automatically delete personal information. You can purchase further access where offered or request account deletion separately.

9. Children, connected devices and rewards

Adults control the child profiles, permissions and connected devices for which they are authorised. You are responsible for deciding which device and revision activities are suitable for your child. Rewards offered through Vinky are chosen and supplied by the family; Vinky does not buy, fund or deliver them.

10. Acceptable use

Vinky is for your family’s personal learning. You may not copy, republish, sell, systematically harvest or commercially distribute Vinky questions, explanations, art or software; bypass security; disrupt the service; use another family’s information without permission; or use Vinky unlawfully. Printing practice materials for your own children through an available Vinky feature is permitted.

11. Ownership and your content

Vinky’s brand, software, original questions, explanations, characters and designs belong to Vyncora or their relevant licensors. You receive a limited, personal permission to use the service as described in these terms. Information and wording you or your child supply remain yours; you authorise us to use them to provide, secure and administer Vinky as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Service standards and limits of responsibility

Please read this section carefully. We aim to deliver Vinky with reasonable care and skill, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access or a particular educational outcome. To the extent South African law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss that is too remote or not reasonably foreseeable from our agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or remedies where doing so would be unlawful, including rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

13. Closing your account or removing a child

You can request to delete your account through Settings → Your profile → Delete account. The deletion process stops future automatic billing, disables account access and child-device authorisations, and deletes or de-identifies personal information as permitted and required by law. Certain transaction, accounting, security or dispute records may need to be retained lawfully for a limited period. Copies within protected backups expire according to their backup-retention cycle. We will handle any pending payment or billing state without leaving an automatic billing arrangement active for a deleted account.

Remove from plan affects future plan coverage but retains the child profile and available learning history. Remove from Vinky removes or archives the profile from normal use; it is not, by itself, a request to erase every historical record. To ask for specific child data to be deleted, contact the Information Officer using the Privacy Policy details. We may need to verify authority, particularly where another authorised family member has access.

14. Privacy and children’s information

Our Privacy Policy explains the categories of information processed, who may access them, how we protect them and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Children’s information is treated with particular care. Consent and other lawful grounds are handled as described in the policy.

15. Updates to these terms

We may update Vinky or these terms as the service and the law change. We make the applicable version available on the website and through the app, communicate material changes appropriately, and seek renewed agreement where legally required. We do not retrospectively change a paid period that has already been purchased. The accepted version and time of acceptance are retained where required for accountability.

16. Problems and complaints

Contact vinkyrecap@gmail.com with your account email, the relevant date and an explanation of the problem. You may also use any statutory complaint, payment-dispute or court process available to you. South African law governs these terms, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be displaced.

17. Saving and reading these terms

You can open, save or print the current Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy from the website. The Parent App also links to these documents under Settings → Help & support, and signup and checkout provide the relevant links and disclosures before agreement or payment.
